This is an excellent option for any foreign investor to obtain residency in Panama. There are currently 3 choices of investment options you can go with to qualify for this:

1st Option:
Minimum investment of $300,000 put into a 3 year “CD” certificate of deposit at a Panama bank. Must be banked in the personal name of the person applying. Interest earned on this deposit is not taxable by Panama and is not reported to any other jurisdiction. You can also add dependents with relative ease, so long as you can demonstrate that there is sufficient income to cover their basic living costs.

2nd Option:
Minimum investment of $300,000 in Panama real estate. Property must be in the personal name or in the name of your Foundation for which you are the founder or beneficiary. You must prove you have sufficient income to support yourself. The same applies for dependents, ability to cover their expenses must be demonstrated.

3rd Option:
The third, allows you to combine the $300,000 investment in a “CD” and real estate.

Dependants:  require an additional $2,000 investment per dependent.
